MILFORD, Del. – Mohawk Electrical Systems, Inc. will be partnering with Del-Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing Pathway in offering an internship to a local high school student.
Mohawk first participated with the program in the summer of 2017 in hosting a student enrolled in the program through Delaware Technical and Community College. The program gives first hand, real-world experience of manufacturing careers to high school students who completed their junior year coursework.
The three-month, summer internship will be awarded to one student who will learn manufacturing line processes to internal protocol of how a manufacturing business operates. The Advanced Manufacturing Pathway is offered at an extension of Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership which has been partnering with Del-Tech on this partnership for years.
Lisa Falconetti, director of special programs at Del-Tech Terry Campus is excited about the 2018 partnership. “Several students are interested in [Mohawk] for their internship this summer,” said Falconetti.
The Mohawk internship is open to students actively enrolled in the Advanced Manufacturing Pathway through Delaware Technical and Community College in both Kent and Sussex counties.
