MILFORD, Del. – After 30-years of on-the-job safety protocol, Mohawk Electrical Systems, Inc. will be celebrated by the Delaware Insurance Commissioner on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Mohawk is a third-generation, family-owned, contract manufacturer located in Milford, Del. Mohawk has been in business since 1963.
The first company to be awarded in the state, Mohawk received entry into the Delaware Workplace Safety Program in 1987. Since then, numerous small and large businesses in the state have benefited from this program in savings on their workers compensation and accident insurance. In the last five fiscal years, employers in the program have saved in combination of $45-million dollars on workers compensation premiums.
Workplace safety and accident prevention are major values at Mohawk. The ceremony will be hosted by Commissioner, Trinidad Navarro on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the company’s Milford plant.
“I am pleased to present this to Mohawk’s team,” said Navarro, “I applaud their commitment to safety and the well-being of their staff.”
Scott Welch, third-generation owner and president of Mohawk Electrical Systems says, “Our semi-annual inspections have always been viewed as an opportunity for improvement,” said Welch, “this award is great recognition to the staff who take safety seriously.”
In addition to the 30-year award, Mohawk will also celebrate 55-years in business in June of 2018.
